Art

We are very proud of the art at Kowie Foundation School. Mrs Carol Lee is an exceptional art teacher, who guides the learners step by step, yet at the same time she allows them to demonstrate their individuality. The children explore different techniques and work with different mediums. We have achieved high accolades at the Bathurst Agricultural Show, including winning the trophy for the Junior School Learner with the Most Points for seven consecutive years.  In 2022, we were the proud winners of the trophy for the Junior School with the Most Points.

Computers

Our children are registered with the Knowledge Network Program, a program which runs from Grade R to Grade 12. Children are taught basic computer skills using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word. They play fun games designed to improve their dexterity, typing, resizing, dragging and clicking skills. At the same time, these games improve their vocabulary, memory and Mathematics skills. The Grade Four’s will be doing an introduction to coding, which continues up to the higher grades.

Drumming

The Foundation Phase classes enjoy drumming lessons with Bev Brunette once a week, where they learn more about rhythm, tempo, pitch, accent and beat, all while having fun and singing along to well-known songs.

Learning Support

Gene Pancoust offers private Occupational Therapy sessions and Julia Schauerte, of Lara Day Speech Therapy, offers private speech therapy lessons at Kowie Foundation School on a weekly basis.

Carol Lee, Nicky Rosslee, Sandy Shaw and Sylvia Ehlers provide Extra Mathematics and English lessons when required.
